If you’ve just moved into a new home or are thinking of redecorating, one of the first places to start is your dining area.
There’s nothing that makes a house a home quicker than your dining table.
There are so many different styles and designs to choose from, but if you’re looking for something that screams cozy, you’re going to want a farmhouse table.
Not only does it bring a sense of charm to your kitchen or dining room, but it also can provide hours of fun for family and friends alike.
But what MAKES a table a farmhouse table cozy?
You may be surprised that it’s not necessarily a style of table that makes it cozy but more the appearance. You’re going to want raw materials. Solid wood. No engineered or veneered wood.
For the finish, you’ll want a neutral toned stain. Nothing too warm or cool. So we’d be in the middle ground for stains. Not too dark, not too yellow. A medium brown, or even a whitewashed or cerused oak.
If you REALLY want a cozy look you’ll get a hard wax finish which allows some of the daily wear and tear to show making it even cozier.
